“How much do you charge?”
This is probably the first question I get asked when someone wants information from me about a wedding. This question usually even comes before I even know if I’m available for their date.
When someone asks me how much I charge through a telephone call or e-mail, I am often unable to give him or her an accurate price. I base my price upon what the client’s individual event needs are. I do this instead of offering generic packages. This way, the clients get exactly what they want, and they’re only paying for what they need. When clients are given a few pre-packaged choices, it’s not tailored to the client’s needs. People don’t get the entertainment experience that they truly wanted for their event.
I also prefer to give one price that is all inclusive. I don’t nickel and dime couples for add-ons and extra hours after we have already agreed to a price. When I book a wedding, that’s what my day is spent doing.
It’s very difficult to have a separate life in the morning, then go DJ a wedding at night. In fact, my mornings are often spent in prep mode, loading gear into a vehicle and reviewing names, timelines and playlists. Even though I may only be at your wedding for a few hours, I am thinking about and working on your wedding all day. That’s the dedication that I put into the events I work.
What can you expect when you contact me the first time?
Well, I will probably suggest that we find a time to meet face to face if you are close to Lincoln. If you are farther, then we can set up a time to Skype. These first meetings are so important. During this time, I get to know you, you get to know me, we discuss your event and I can design a package specifically for you and the needs of your event. Then I can quote you an accurate price. From there, you don’t have to book immediately.
I pride myself on being a no-pressure “salesman.” You can take your time. Review the quote I gave you, and check your other options. I’ll be here when you’re ready to book. If other couples are wanting to book on the date of your event, I’ll follow up with you. This is your big day! I’m just here to make it go as smoothly as possible.
